FOUNDING STORY

About The Open Space Society

TOSS emerged from a return to Jaipur, a desire to preserve endangered art forms, and the conviction that creative education should feel close, lived-in, and communal.

Shilpi and Hitesh

Shilpi Batra Adwani and Hitesh Adwani brought together two complementary instincts: one toward filmmaking and cultural conservation, the other toward building communities around visual practice and shared curiosity.

Their collaboration made space for both formal learning and everyday creative belonging.

Section 02

Community as a Springboard

The Jaipur Photography Club proved that a strong creative community could grow through workshops, excursions, and shared practice. That same community-building energy later became a springboard for TOSS.

Section 03

A Building Reimagined

The TOSS campus was once a garment export house. Materials, furniture, and fixtures were remodelled to preserve the building's former life while giving it a new creative future.
